Growing security needs and the accelerating development of defence infrastructure in Lithuania call for advanced solutions that meet NATO standards. Today, when military facilities must be built quickly and reliably while complying with the highest quality requirements, technologies that ensure uninterrupted, efficient and precise execution are especially important. One such area is concrete paving, which plays a key role in defence projects due to high load capacity, long service life and resistance to environmental factors.
Lithuania is taking a significant step forward in this field—local companies are adopting technologies that have been successfully used for many years in NATO infrastructure projects across Western Europe and the United States.
EWCON is strengthening its technical capabilities by acquiring the high-performance, versatile CD6040 concrete paver from ERCO Technologies.
This Belgian equipment reflects decades of expertise in concrete paving technologies—since the 1950s, Belgium has been one of the leaders in this field, widely using concrete for streets, roads, ports and other heavy-duty paved areas.
The new equipment is a modern, automated slipform concrete paver, offering technical flexibility and high precision. It can pave concrete surfaces from 2.5 to 6.0 meters wide and is equipped with an automatic control system and height-adjustment function, ensuring an exceptionally even finish even in the most challenging conditions.
Concrete pavers of this model have been successfully used for many years on NATO military facilities in Europe and the United States—proven technology that meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
“This equipment represents not only a technological leap, but also a concrete step towards more efficient and higher-quality infrastructure in Lithuania. It is particularly important in the current geopolitical situation, when the construction of military facilities requires speed, precision and reliability,” note representatives of EWCON.
The investment demonstrates EWCON’s strategic ambition to be among the most advanced infrastructure contractors in the Baltic region and to be fully prepared to deliver projects of the highest importance in both the civil and defence sectors.
